Ride deep into the forestry while cruising through the jungle. This environment has abundant tropical fruits and flowers, including fresh guava. The Kualoa Ranch is a great location for this tour. The 2 hour ATV ride is a great substitute to the beach. Tours usually occur in the afternoon and the all-terran four-wheel ATVs can go faster then horseback riding, which allows tourists to see more land. This is definitely an unique experience.
All drivers must watch a safety video before driving and are supposed to go 5 miles per hour. Helmets are required, goggles are optional. There is a trial for the amateurs and the experienced drivers to determine which group people belong to. ATVs don't have any power steering, so it is helpful to have some strength and coordination. Shoes with closed toes are a must to ride the ATVs. A rain poncho can be purchased for the ATV drivers at the Kualoa Ranch store.
All riders must be over 16 years old in order to drive an ATV. Pregnant women are not allowed. All ATV drivers must sign a liability release. After you sign that, you will meet the helpful guides that will lead the ATV tour.
Many television shows and movies have been filmed at this exciting section, including the following: 50 First Dates, Godzilla, Jurassic Park, Lost, Pearl Harbor and Windtalkers. You can imagine yourself in one of these movies as you recognize the scenery.
The 2 hour ATV ride is good for those that are experienced with these all-terrain vehicles. The trail can be quite muddy, dusty and rugged. Tourists should wear durable clothes they aren't worried about getting dirty. It is smart to wear long pants, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and a towel. The Kualoa Ranch is located in the northeastern section of Oahu Island, Hawaii. Follow Kamehameha Highway 83, up along the eastern coastline. Kualoa Ranch is near Kahana Valley State Park.
